Chanter 225A, 92-93

  1. Population and dissenters: We have in our Parish about 145 familys. No dissenters of any denomination, no meeting House nor Teacher.

  2. Public or charity schools: There is no Publick nor Charity School.

  3. Alms-house, hospital or charitable endowment: There is no Almshouse, nor any other charitable endowment, or Benefaction of any kind.

  4. Residence upon cure: I do not reside in the Parish, but in an adjoyning Parish about two miles from the Church upon my Paternal Estate. I had Liberty from the late Bishop on Account of its being a small Parish, in which there is scarce any weekly duty. I humbly hope your Lordship will indulge me in the same Liberty.

  5. Curate: I have no Curate.

  6. Divine service at other churches: None.

  7. Frequency of divine service: I perform divine service twice every Lords day and preach in the morning. Seldom at other Times unless fast days &c enjoyned by publick authority.

  8. Frequency of communion: Four Times viz Easter, Whitsunday, Micaelmas, and Christmas.

  9. Number of communicants: About twenty.

  10. Catechising of children: Once a year about this time of the year when the days are longest.

  11. Chapels or chapels in ruins: There are two private Chappels in our Parish one called Ayshford, the other Fenacre the former is about 3 miles from the Church belonging to a late family of that name, now extinct the last of which gave £15 per annum for a sermon to be preached on the first Sunday of every month. It is now serv’d by one Mr. Whitlock appointed by the present owner of the Estate. The Latter is in Ruins.
