Population and dissenters: We have One Hundred & Twenty Six Familys in Our Parish. We have not one Dissenter of any Sort or Denomination. We have no licens'd or other meeting-House of Dissenters.
Public or charity schools: We have One English reading and writing School in Our Parish, and One English reading School; neither of them endow'd or otherwise maintain'd, unless by a private Benefaction given by Mr Fellowes to the former in which about Twenty Children are taught; in the latter about Eighty Children. Care is taken in both of them to instruct the Children in the Principles of the Christian Religion according to the Doctrine of the Church of England, & to bring ym to Church, as ye Canon requires.
Alms-house, hospital or charitable endowment: We have in Our Parish only One Alms House, which we call the Church House. We have some Lands and Tenements left for the Repair of our Church, & the Relief of some Poor who have no Pay from the Parish: Nine Substantial Inhabitants or Feoffees have the Direction of these Benefactions I do not know neither have I heard of any Abuses or Frauds committed in the Management of them.
Residence upon cure: I do reside personally upon my Cure, and in my Parsonage House.
Curate: I have no residing Curate for the Reason above.
Frequency of divine service: Divine Service is perform'd in my Church on Sundays and Holidays; twice every Lord's Day, with a Sermon in the Morning thro' out the year; and in the Afternoon from Ladyday to Michaelmas.
Frequency of communion: The Holy Sacrament of the Lord's Supper is administred in my Church Eight times in the Year.
Number of communicants: We have in Our Parish about One Hundred and Thirty Communicants. About Fifty of them usually receive. In particular, the Number of them who communicated at Easter last past were about Ninety.
Catechising of children: The Children are catechis'd in my Church Every Sunday in the Afternoon immediately after the Second Lesson, from Ladyday to Michaelmas. My Parishioners for the most part do send their Children and Servants to be instructed by me.
Chapels or chapels in ruins: We have Two Chapels in our Parish, call'd Chenston Chapel and Chawleigh-Week Chapel each of them about two miles distant from Our Parish Church, both in Ruins in which no Divine Service is perform'd.
