  1. Population and dissenters: Here are One & Twenty Families & not one Dissenter.

  2. Public or charity schools: We have no Such Thing as a Charity School, but by ye Charity of Coulson Fellowes Esqr poor Peoples Children are Taught to Write & Read as I’m informd at Chawleigh at his Expence.

  3. Alms-house, hospital or charitable endowment: There is no Such Thing as an Alms House or Hosptial, no Charitable Endowments, no Lands no Tenements.

  4. Residence upon cure: I preach on Every Sunday at Eggesford; but my House at Present is in Such a Miserable Condition yt no one can Live in it without imminent danger. I am in these parts Every Saturday Sunday & Monday, & on Tuesday return to my Family which is at present in Exeter.

  5. Curate: I have no Curate.

  6. Divine service at other churches: I preach on Every Lords Day at Marleigh.

  7. Frequency of divine service: As Eggesford is So remote from Marleigh it wont be possible for me till I can get a House to Live in to do Duty at both places more than once a Day.

  8. Frequency of communion: Four Times in ye Year and at ye accustom’d Seasons.

  9. Number of communicants: I never as yet administerd ye Holy Sacrament at Eggesford, but upon ye best Enquiry, I could make, find there are but few, as ye Parish is Small, & does not abound with Inhabitants.

  10. Catechising of children: I have admonish’d ye Parents publickly in ye Church to Send their Children & Servants to be instructed in ye Catechise, and very Soon Shall See, what will be ye effects of my admonition.

  11. Chapels or chapels in ruins: We have no Such Thing as a Chapel.
