Population and dissenters: There are in this Parish of Newton Ferrers about forty families of these there is not one dissenter of any sort or denomination. There is not any licenced, or other meeting house of dissenters in the parish.
Alms-house, hospital or charitable endowment: There is not in the parish any alms house, Hospital or other charitable endowment no lands or tenements have been left for the repair of the Church. There is a rent charge of ten shillings per annum on a house in Plymouth payable to the Church Wardens <of this parish> for the use of the poor which is properly applied. There are in this parish two small tenements given to pious uses as I have been told: but who hath the direction of the benefactions I know not. I have not heard of any abuses.
Number of communicants: I never took upon me to reckon how many communicants are in the parish, or how many of them usually receive: nor can I tell in particular how many there were who communicated at Easter last past. But the number of communicants, to the best of my remembrance, are never less than fifteen, & seldom exceed thirty.
Catechising of children: I catechize the children in my church, as the Rubric directs, from Easter to Michaelmass: nor do I want children or an Audience. By speaking to the Children I instruct their parents.
