  1. Population and dissenters: According to ye best account I can make, in which I have taken some pains to inform my self, I have in my parish between 900 & 1000 Families. Of which Dissenters of ye Presbyterian persuasion – between 70 & 80. They have a Meeting House, Licens'd I think. Their Teacher's name is Merrifield. Other dissenters none.

  2. Public or charity schools: We have no Charity School in our parish.

  3. Alms-house, hospital or charitable endowment: We have some alms-houses of antient Foundation. and besides we have Lands which for time immemorial have been applied to ye Repairs of ye church & other publick uses. The direction of them is in Eight Masters (as They are call'd) of ye Town of Tavistock. I do not know of any abuses or Frauds committed in the management of them.

  4. Residence upon cure: I do reside personally upon my cure & in ye parsonage House.

  5. Curate: [No answer given]

  6. Divine service at other churches: No.

  7. Frequency of divine service: I preach twice every Lord's day. I read prayers constantly on Tuesdays, Wednesdays & Fridays morning & on Saturdaye Even.

  8. Frequency of communion: I administer ye Holy sacrament of ye Lord's supper on each of ye three Great Festivals & on ye Sunday following each & monthly thro' out ye year.

  9. Number of communicants: At Easter last I had I believe between 80 & 90 communicants. Near ye same number I have at Christmas & Whitsunday. On ye sundays following each Festival between 60 & 70 & near ye same number at each monthly sacrament.

  10. Catechising of children: As I preach constantly twice every sunday to a numerous & crowded congregation I cannot conveniently catechise ye children at ye same time so have of late catechis'd ye children on Saturdays at even prayer. which custom I think to continue with your Lordship's approbation.

  11. Chapels or chapels in ruins: We have none.
