Residence, curate and lecturer: I reside, My Lord, personally upon my Cure, and in my Vicarage-House... I have no Lecturer, nor Assistant – tho' one of the most laborious Cures, perhaps, in your Lordship's Diocese; nor will the Income of the Living afford one. This, I hope, with due Submission, will sometime or other merit the Notice of the Diocesan.
Chapels: There is no Chapel within my Parish, but what belongs to an Alms House – where Prayers are read by one of the poor Inhabitants.
Papists, dissenters and meeting houses: I do not know of any reputed Papists in my Parish. Meeting-Houses we have Two; but Served by one Minister, or Teacher. These Dissenters are of the Denomination of Presbyterians. Their Teacher's Name is Benjamin Seaward.
School, alms-houses, hospital and charitable endowments: There are Several publick Schools in my Parish: one, wherein the learned Languages are taught, Commonly call'd the Latin School – and another, where Boys are taught Reading, Writing & Arithmetic – each endow'd – with Several others of less note.
Charity: There have Lands, Tenements, and other Benefactions, been left for charitable uses – but as the Corporation have the Direction and Management of the different Donations – I know nothing of the application – I trust they are duly applied.
