To the Revd the Minister of Bradninch

Chanter 232A, 256

  1. Residence, curate and lecturer: I do not now personally reside at Bradninch but at my Living in Wiltshire. I have a resident Curate whose Salary is £40 per Annum which is the whole income that I receive from the impropriators. the Church of Windsor. I am myself licenced but trust that your Lordship will dispense with my Curate being so from the smallness of the Salary.

  2. Other benefices: Answer'd in the preceding article.

  3. Divine service at other churches: No where else.

  4. Frequency of divine service: Divine Service is perform'd twice every Lords Day with 2 Sermons and Every Wednesday & Fryday & Saints day througout the year - sermons on some particular days - & prayers the week before & after the great Festivals.

  5. Frequency of communion: The Sacrament is administerd four times in the year. The number of Communicants from 60 to 80 & upwards.

  6. Catechising of children: At no time publickly.

  7. Church fabric: Everything of this sort very decent & in good Repair.

  8. Glebe terrier: Neither Glebe Lands nor an House - the latter is much wanted or an increased Salary - as £40 per Annum can badly spare a deduction for House Rent & subsist a Clergyman - at the same time the Parish is large & the duty too great to admit the undertaking another Cure.

  9. Number of families: This I can not ascertain at present but from parish vouchers will endeavour to do it & make return to your Lordship on some future day.

  10. Chapels: No Chapel.

  11. Papists, dissenters and meeting houses: No reputed Papist - nor meeting house for Dissenting Congreg[atio]n.

  12. School, alms-houses, hospital and charitable endowments: None of either Sort.

  13. Charity: Some small sums to be laid out in bread at stated times a few Houses & somewhat more than sufficient to repair them settled in trust to be given to the poor not having other releif. The Feoffees are regularly filled up & the bequests duly applied.

Priest's orders and institution: Date of Priest Orders is 25th September 1768
Date of Licence is 27th July 1770
