To the Revd the Minister of Wembworthy

Chanter 232A, 13

  1. Residence, curate and lecturer: I have constantly resided in my Parsonage House untill Lady Day last, when I removed to Chulmleigh about three Miles distant from my Church & Parsonage House, expecting benefit from the change of Air, having been attack'd for some months by a pretty severe illness. I have now Servants resident in the house, & the Ministerial functions have been hitherto performed by myself with the utmost of regularity. We have no Lecturer.

  2. Other benefices: I have no other Benefice than that of Wembworthy.

  3. Divine service at other churches: I do not perform Divine Service at any other Church besides my own.

  4. Frequency of divine service: Divine Service is perform'd in my Church twice on the Lord's Day with a Sermon in the Morning; tho' previous to my Institution, there was Service but once only.

  5. Frequency of communion: The Sacrament of the Lord's Supper is administer'd four times in the year; & we have usually about twenty actual communicants.

  6. Catechising of children: I begin to Catechise the youth of my Parish usually about Easter, & continue so to do 'till they cease to attend.

  7. Church fabric: Our Church & Chancel is in good repair; & our Church yard is well kept; & we have all things decent for Divine Service.

  8. Glebe terrier: We have a Terrier of the Glebe Lands, Houses &c according to the Canon.

  9. Number of families: We have about forty Families in our Parish including Cottagers.

  10. Chapels: We have no Chapel within our Parish.

  11. Papists, dissenters and meeting houses: We have no reputed Papists within our Parish; Nor any Meeting houses for Dissenting Congregations.

  12. School, alms-houses, hospital and charitable endowments: We have no Publick or other School in our Parish; nor Alms houses, Hospital, or other Charitable Endowment; nor Parochial Library.

  13. Charity: No Lands or Tenements have been left to our Parish or other Benefaction than one of three pounds which is duly applied.

    Priest's orders and institution: I was ordained Priest at Exeter by the late Bishop Keppel on the 7th day of November 1773 - & was instituted to the Rectory of Wembworthy on the 24th of March 1775.
