  1. Residence, curate and lecturer: I do not reside at the Parsonage of Inwardleigh; for having the care of the Grammar School in Exeter, I am constantly attendant upon that Duty. The Revd Mr. John Preston is my Curate, who, I believe, has no Licence: He resides at Okehampton, which is but three miles distant from my Church. I give him thirty five pounds per Annum & the surplice Fees. There is no Lecturer.

  2. Other benefices: I have only this Benefice.

  3. Divine service at other churches: I perform Divine Service by virtue of a Sequestration at St John's & St George in Exeter.

  4. Frequency of divine service: Divine Service is constantly performd in my Church with a Sermon in the Afternoon as well as Forenoon every Lord's Day from Lady day to Michaelmas: Also twice every Lord's day with a Sermon in the morning from Michaelmas to the 1st of Novr. From thence to the 2d of Febry but once a day with a Sermon. And from thence to Lady day as it is from Michaelmas to the 1st of Novr.

  5. Frequency of communion: The Sacrament is administerd four times a year; at Easter Whitsunday or Trinity Sunday: about Michaelmas & at Xtmas: and there are generally about 30 communicants.

  6. Catechising of children: The youth are catechis'd every year on several successive Sundays after Trinity Sunday.

  7. Church fabric: My Church & Chancel are in very good Repair: The Church-yard Fence is well kept; and we have all things decent for divine Service.

  8. Glebe terrier: We have a Terrier of the Glebe Lands, Houses &c: And there is a copy of it in your Lordship's Office.

  9. Number of families: About 30, including all the Cottagers.

  10. Chapels: There is no Chapel in my Parish.

  11. Papists, dissenters and meeting houses: There is neither Papist, nor Dissenter in my Parish.

  12. School, alms-houses, hospital and charitable endowments: There is no publick School; no Alms-House; no Hospital; no parochial Library.

  13. Charity: There are no Lands or Tenements left to pious uses, nor any charitable Benefaction, excepting 50 Shillings per Annum regularly paid by Feoffees of the Parish Lands in Crediton for the use of the Poor, which is distributed accordingly.
