To the Revd the Minister of Teingrace

Chanter 232B, 586

  1. Residence, curate and lecturer: I do not reside upon my Cure, as my Parsonage House is so small, having only two Rooms on the Ground Floor, and two Chambers, which will not contain one third of my Family. I reside upon my Paternal Estate in an adjacent Parish, about two Miles and half, from my Church. I duly <serve> the Living myself, and have done so since the Year 1750.

  2. Other benefices: I have only one Benefice.

  3. Divine service at other churches: I content myself with doing my <Duty> regularly twice every Sunday, never any where else, unless when I am desir'd to assist a Brother Clergyman.

  4. Frequency of divine service: Divine Service is perform'd in my X'ch twice every Lords Day with a Sermon in the Morning, and the Afternoon.

  5. Frequency of communion: The Sacrament of the Lord's Supper is administered four Times in a Year, about fifteen Communicants usualy attend.

  6. Catechising of children: I did attempt to catechise the Children but found it impracticable from the Neglect of the Parishioners in sending the few Children, within my District.

  7. Church fabric: Every thing belonging to the Church, Chancel and X'ch-yard is kept in the neatest, and most decent Order.

  8. Glebe terrier: I have in my Custody a Terrier of the Glebe-Lands, Houses &c.

  9. Number of families: About fifteen.

  10. Chapels: There is no Chapel within the Parish.

  11. Papists, dissenters and meeting houses: None of any Sort.

  12. School, alms-houses, hospital and charitable endowments: None of any Sort.

  13. Charity: There are two Tenements, & a few very Small Closes of Land, secur'd to the Parishioners by a Feoffment Deed, & the Revenue duly apply'd (by ye Feoffees) to the Uses, for which they were destin'd.

Priest's orders and institution: I was ordain'd Priest the twenty first Day <of> September 1740
I was instituted the nineteenth Day of December 1750
