The Friends of Devon’s Archives was founded in 1998 to promote the preservation and use of historical records throughout Devon and to raise public awareness of their importance for research and education. It provides financial support for the acquisition of Devon documents, arranges a programme of lectures and volunteer projects, and liaises closely with the local record offices in Devon to improve standards of care and availability of the county’s written heritage.
